The Veritas short blade honing guide is designed to sharpen short blades such as those used on spokeshaves. This specialist honing guide can also be used to hone other blades up to 2 5/8" wide and 1/4" thick. One edge of the guide is set for honing a 30 degree bevel, the other side set to 25 degree bevel. The registration jig sets the correct blade extension for three blade thicknesses (1/8", 3/16" and 1/4"). The included shim can be used for honing a micro bevel of 2 degrees (approx).
